v0.1.30-pre.68
protectedf48c57c9 · ·v0.1.30-pre.68 preview: the last step of setting up a new account now tells the truth about the project's chat - somebody already in it has to let you in, so it is not instant, the request waits in your chat list and joins by itself, and skipping is fine because the list offers it again. Skip is a button of its own weight there. The chat is offered under its current name, "Welcome Cordn Staircase", instead of the one frozen into its link before the room was renamed. And asking to join any group leaves you on your chat list looking at your waiting request, instead of on Requests saying "Nothing waiting" about it. No schema change.

v0.1.30-pre.67
protected269c4952 · ·v0.1.30-pre.67 preview: no change a person can see - the app is pre.66's. A screen test's held-send driver now uses the one hold a session never releases, so the row it measures is no longer re-queued and sent out from under it (#9696cdad): 50 of 50 samples failed with the mechanism driven on main's shape, 0 of 75 on this one. No code, no behaviour and no schema change.

v0.1.30-pre.66
protected25c23fef · ·v0.1.30-pre.66 preview: the first page a newcomer reads now tells the truth on a computer. It said "Messages are locked on your phone before they leave" on the desktop app and in a browser as well as on a phone; it says "on this device", in English and every translation that carried the phone. Wording only: no code, no behaviour and no schema change, so it installs over anything in the 0.1.30 series either way.

v0.1.30-pre.65
protected0f5077d8 · ·v0.1.30-pre.65 preview: the Backup screen stops promising something it cannot keep. Locking a backup with your signer's key - what Staircase starts on with Amber, a browser extension or a key on the device - writes a file the web client at cordn.net cannot open, and the screen said the opposite in all ten languages. It now says the file opens in Staircase on any device signed in as you, and that cordn.net reads one locked with a passphrase or left unlocked. Wording only: no code, no behaviour and no schema change, so this installs over pre.64 or earlier in the series either way.

v0.1.30-pre.64
protected94819f1c · ·v0.1.30-pre.64 preview: no change a person can see - the app is pre.63's. A screen test now opens its database on a file, as the app does, which removes the mechanism behind the renderAllScreens flake (#1fa1ea56): a query notification deferred into another thread's transaction could be lost outright. No schema change, so this build installs over pre.63 and back again freely; schema 22 still, and going below pre.61 remains the one-way door that lands you at the account picker.

v0.1.30-pre.63
protectedfaeceb6d · ·preview: a member with no name of their own is no longer listed twice over - in a group's info sheet, somebody who has published no profile was drawn as the same shortened key where the name goes and again underneath it, and their row now carries the key once. A member with a published address but no name still has the address under their key, and a member with a name is unchanged.
-
v0.1.30-pre.62
protected05de26a2 · ·preview: eight counted lines now read as a person would say them, in every language - Settings' Multi-device row, four Coordinators lines, the restore report and a chat's connection details no longer say "1 group(s)" or "2 former epoch key(s)", and each picks the wording its own count and language call for. A chat keeping no former epoch keys leaves that clause out entirely instead of saying it in brackets.
-
v0.1.30-pre.61
protectedd8219f76 · ·preview: a share link that lets somebody in - an admin's group page can make a letting-in link beside the ordinary Share link, and whoever opens it taps once and is in the chat with nobody asked. One person, seven days, revocable, and a spent or revoked link falls back to an ordinary knock an admin answers. ONE-WAY DOOR: schema 21 to 22, so an account opened by this build or anything newer cannot be opened by v0.1.30-pre.60 or older.
-
v0.1.30-pre.60
protected54b0fa1d · ·preview: the rows you press Invite with now carry the person's key under their name - in Add people and in the tick-box list on New group - so there is something to check before someone is let into an encrypted group. An account with no published profile is still named once, by its key.
-
v0.1.30-pre.59
protected40b57b01 · ·preview: under the Staircase look a chat's conversation runs the full height of the screen and passes under the header and the message box, each of which now frosts what is behind it rather than sitting as a solid strip. Classic and Ink & paper are unchanged; Android 8 to 11 keep the solid colour, having no blur of their own.
-
v0.1.30-pre.58
protected7b73fce3 · ·preview: a group's share link no longer says you have been invited - it says a link was sent and that the group's admins are asked once you sign in, which is what happens - and the screen that opens a link stops printing the link's own code above the card, with the field a tap away under "Open a different link".
-
v0.1.30-pre.57
protectededb1ef81 · ·preview: invitations and join requests are counted the way each language counts - "1 new invitation" rather than "1 new invitation(s)", three forms in Russian, a counter word in Japanese, and "Nothing new" when Refresh found neither.
-
v0.1.30-pre.56
protectede4c59e00 · ·preview: inviting someone who has not installed Staircase yet now works -- the invitation is kept, goes out by itself when their app publishes a key, and the group's page lists who is waiting with Try now and Stop waiting. Schema 20 to 21: an account that opens this build cannot be opened by pre.55 or older
-
v0.1.30-pre.55
protected38317763 · ·preview: under the Staircase look a conversation's page carries a very fine paper grain in daylight, and the first chat an account ever has swings its door open once
-
v0.1.30-pre.54
protected5ae660c6 · ·preview: an invitation now says who it is from -- the Requests card names the group's admin, with their key under the name and a tap to their profile, and a single arriving invitation notifies by name instead of a bare count
-
v0.1.30-pre.53
protected1b521476 · ·preview: "Invite a friend" shows your own QR code and profile link, on the empty chat list and the empty Inbox, instead of the coordinator's invite
-
v0.1.30-pre.52
protected34c3c28a · ·preview: a sticker is drawn as a sticker from the moment you tap it, in flight and once it has landed, out of the app's own copy rather than the message's; a reply's quote reads "Sticker"
-
v0.1.30-pre.51
protected2258d779 · ·preview: under the Staircase look the send button now sits in a soft light that breathes while the chat's link is live and is gone while it is not, a long press on it shows how the chat is connected, and a send or a reaction gives a light tick under the finger.
-
v0.1.30-pre.50
protectedddfdde55 · ·preview: keep one chat whole - every row of Settings > Storage now has a switch that takes that conversation out of the account's retention limits for good, while the limits go on applying to every other chat.
-
v0.1.30-pre.49
protected062d87f7 · ·preview: a long chat opens on its newest messages and fetches the rest as you scroll back, instead of reading every message it holds before drawing anything
